It’s when a girl follows him back through the door that his journey really takes off. His call to adventure happens when he sees a lone door after work hours and decides to peak in. He does this by going through kids doors while they sleep and making them scream. The movie begins with Sulley in the ordinary world, a life where he is the #1 scarer. We see the story through his eyes as he takes his journey of discovery and to right a wrong. Sulley is the character who undergoes the biggest change in the film. I decided to take a closer look at some of the characters in the movie and see which archetype best fits each of these characters. Pixar has a way of making me feel for their characters. Near the end of the movie, when Sulley puts Boo back in her room, they must destroy her door afterwards, and you can see how emotional Sulley gets with knowing he will never see Boo again. It does what Pixar so often achieves, laughter and hits the spot in your heart to really make you sympathize with the characters. to now entertain children and make them laugh rather than scare them.Īll around, this is a very cute movie. Waternoose is taken away and Sulley has become the new man in charge and changes Monsters, Inc. Waternoose, and able to return Boo do her door. In the end, Sulley is successful in defeating both Randall and Mr. have plotted together to kidnap children and force screams out of them. Waternoose, Mike and Sulley’s boss at Monsters, Inc. They have to keep her secret from the rest of the community and especially keep her away from her monster, Randall. Life really gets hectic for Sulley and Mike once they decide to try to help Boo get back to her door. After spending some time with Boo, both Sulley and Mike, Sully’s co-worker that works behind the door of the rooms Sulley scares, realize that this small child is nothing to fear and that laughter is even more powerful than scares. Once in the monster world, her life now becomes endangered as everyone is afraid of her and wants to get rid of her. ![]() Unafraid of Sulley, Boo, decides to follow him through the door and into the monster world. When Sulley sees the door left unattended after hours at work, he goes in the door. Randall is assigned to a small child, named Boo. Each child is assigned a monster based on what each kid would believe is scary. Children are feared by the monsters, believing that their touch can instantly kill you. The movie is about monsters who scare children in order to bottle up their screams and use them to power the electricity in their monster city.
